On this page, I will list the websites that I visit regularly, so it will not be a full list of all sites that I have bookmarked (as that would take minutes to download). There will also be web pages of companies and friends, but it will all be related to the games business, or software development.

The following links are for sites that are directly connected to game development, some the whole area of game development, some only about programming.

IndieGamer Forum Dexterity used to run a forum for indie game developer where a lot of talks were going on regarding game development, marketing, sales, support and technical issues. This forum was later closed down but some of the guys decided to setup a new forum. This new forum lives on with the same enthusiasm as the old one. If you are interested in Indie Game development then go and visit the forums. http://forums.indiegamer.com
GameDev.Net is probably one of the largest sources for game development material. Includes news, articles, job listings, book reviews and also a very active forum (more that 1.8 million postings and more than 67 thousands members). http://www.gamedev.net
Programmers Heaven - Where programmers go!

Programmers Heaven is one of the largest online communities for programmers. They might have one of the largest collections of links, files, news, articles and message boards. All programming related but not all about game development. http://www.programmersheaven.com

Flipcode closed their doors on the 22nd of August 2005. They plan to keep their articles and forums opened as read only for some time. http://www.flipcode.com
'Your Source for Game Development' is their slogan. They bring lot's of news and have some very interesting articles. They are also hosting the 3D Engines Database. http://www.devmaster.net
Home of AngelScript. I never got around to use this script system but have been following it for some time. Worth checking out. The site also contain some interesting tools, such as Bitmap Font Generator, Texture Generator. They also have several tutorials as well as a very detailed Reference database (link collection). http://www.angelcode.com
Home of Torque, the Game Engine that was created after Tribes was released. Games such as Marble Blask Gold, Orbz and Dark Horizons: Lore and Think Tanks was all created with this game engine. Cheap and very advance engine. They have a very active developer forum also. I have not invested the $100 in the engine YET but bought the book about it. http://www.garagegames.com
Gamasutra The place for news, articles, jobs, education. Not a site to miss. Oh, also the main page for Game Developers Conference, Game Developer Magazine. One note, if you plan to sign up for the magazine then do become member of IGDA and you will get the magazine for free. The price for IGDA is the same anyway, so you just get more benefits.

IGDA From their their site: The International Game Developers Association is a non-profit membership organization that advocates globally on issues related to digital game creation. The IGDA's mission is to strengthen the international game development community and effect change to benefit that community.

IGDA have lots of forums and chapters (local groups of people meeting up), they also work active on making the games business a better place for the developers.

J2ME Development.

Sun

Since Sun is the company behind Java and J2ME it is the main place to get information regarding J2ME. They have a general SDK that supports more or less all interesting API's for J2ME. http://java.sun.com/j2me
BenQ Mobile / Siemens Mobile After BenQ Mobile went bankrupt in 2006 the developer portal has been taken down. But the forum still exists; please check what my friend Daniel Klein wrote about it and how to access it. How to access BenQ Mobile forum.
Forum Nokia The place to go for any Nokia related issue. Such as device specs, SDK, documentation and also their discussion forums. http://forum.nokia.com

J2ME Polish J2ME Polish is the site for the tools set with the same name. It consist of a advanced build system, GUI system (using CSS), localization framework, Game Engine, Logging Framework, various utilities. KVM-INTEREST

This is THE mailing list to be on if you are serious about J2ME development. The list is rather active with lots of professional developers. You can almost always count with replies to your questions/issues. My archive of the list got more than 18000 messages.
Graphics artists.

Following are graphics artists that I have worked with in the past and had a good experience with.

On the website of Vision A Far you will find some awesome posters of space, (plus a few that hasn't to do with Space). Gary Tonge is doing some very impressive work. I do plan to order a few of his posters. Gary is also working in the games business as graphics artist. http://www.visionafar.com

Music/SFX production.

Following are people/companies that creates music and sound effects for games.

Lemon Multimedia is a small production house capable of delivering bespoke audio in many different formats for a variety of platforms. Previous work has included games audio / sound design on Mobile Phones, Gameboy Color, Gameboy Advance, Playstation 2 and Dreamcast.
Andy Lemon is also about to release his first CD with trance/techno music.

Online courses

Game Institute is offering lot's of online courses related to game development, this includes mathematics/physics, engine, graphics, input... They also have several seminars, with such subjects as AI, Perlin Noise, Shader programming, Java, lighting..
 I started on their math course long ago, but it was bad timing as I had little time for it. I will return to the course at a later stage. http://www.gameinstitute.com

Gameversity is offering a great collection of online courses/seminars, all related to game development. They cover areas such as 3D rendering, Shader programming, Network programming, Physics, design, art and math.
Game Developers

Following are developers who either do games for a living or just as hobbies. All developers will be people I have connections with in one or another way. We at Mobile Scope have or is working with several of them also.

House of Bytes Software

This site is run by Daniel Klein whom I have known for years. Only game released so far is the puzzle game Bubblet for PC, but do expect more games coming from him, probably also J2ME games. Oh, and he is 5 times winner of 'Developer of the Month' award at the Siemens Developer forums.
Daniel is also writing reviews of books he read, J2ME, Java and books about writing, so far all reviews are in German, but I will convince him to do them in English also.http://www.hobsoft.de

Dynamite Mobile

Developer of several of Mobile Scope's old and also upcoming games. They keep impressing me all the time. Oh, and I was the one who got them started on Mobile Gaming. Their past experience is GBC, Playstation, XBox and PS2 development.

One Man Band

Small developer (as name says) who has experience in developing for all kinds of platforms, such as PC, GBC, GBA, Playstation, BREW, J2ME and custom hardware.

Developer/publisher of games for PC, Mac and PocketPC. None of the games are super complex, so it is easy to get started with them, but be careful they can be rather addictive.
